Our Programs
Programs For People, Inc., is more than just a human service organization. It takes a personal interest in everyone who comes through its doors. The organization has been "like family" to many of the people we serve. Although it provides assistance with developing social skills and is not intended to be a replacement for family or friends, it serves as an ongoing source of support to people we have served in their times of need. The people we serve can return to the program throughout their lives, if needed, either when they are experiencing emotional difficulty or when they are ready to pursue further growth and new challenges. There is a low staff turnover rate, so when people return they find many of the same staff that they know and trust. There is also a low turnover of Board Members, which has contributed greatly to the organization’s ability to both sustain itself and grow over the years. Programs For People, Inc., offers three main types of services, as described below.
-
Mental Health Day Treatment is a program for adults 18 years of age and older who need more than a weekly therapy appointment but less than full hospitalization.
-
The Lunch Box is a program that provides the opportunity to work in a pre-vocational, supported work environment for food service, delivering food to people we serve and staff. The Lunch Box is supplemental program to our other services.
-
Project Advance Vocational Services offers a wide range of opportunities to help people prepare themselves emotionally for employment in the areas of assuming responsibilities, relating to an employer and/or supervisor, and getting along with co-workers.
